FOLLOW YOUR DREAM ROADTRIP 6
Seven thousand four hundred sixty five (7,465) students were given the sessions in 8 schools in Passi City namely: Man-it Integrated School (300) on June 29th Agdahon National High School (300) on July 2nd; Passi National High School (4,355) on July 3rd, Passi National High School-Sablogon Ext. (300) on July 4, 2018; Salngan National High School (1,100) and its Annex Ext. (300) on July 5th; Agdayao Integrated School (200) and Efraim Santibanez National High School (610) on July 6th. For the Passi schools, LVF is in partnership with the Department of Education-Passi City.
LVF served nine hundred twenty-five (925) students of Dr. Antonio Lizares Memorial High School on July 13, 2018 for its seminar workshop.
Three thousand (3,000) students of E.B. Magalona National High School were reached by LVF’s advocacy on July 18 and 19th.
Four thousand nine hundred sixty (4,960) were given the sessions in 7 schools in Victorias City. The following schools are given the sessions: Laura Vicuna Women Development and Training Center (150) on July 12th; Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias Integrated School (1,000) on July 17th ; Victorias National High School (1,880) on July 20th; Victorias National High School-Canetown Extension (250), Brilliantes National High School (200) and Don Alfonso Sta. Ana Memorial High School (690) on July 25th; and the Don Bosco Technical Institute (790) on July 24th.
Two thousand seven hundred ten (2,710) students in 6 Cadiz City schools were given the sessions this July. The following are the schools given the Follow Your Dream seminar workshop: Dr. Vicente Gustilo National High School (900) and Villacin National High School (40) on July 16th; Caduha-an National High School (200) and Caduha-an National High School-Luna Extension (570) on July 24th; Mabini National High School (800) and Sped National High School (200) on July 25th.
The students had an opportunity to hear from some inspiring young women regarding their personal testimonies on how they were able to live their dreams amidst their life’s difficulties. The activities in the workshop became a venue for meaningful sharings with the participants regarding their experiences, the persons they admire most, their personal strengths and weaknesses, what they want to achieve in the next five-years and 5 stepping stones in the pursuit of their goals.
Lastly, most of the students and teachers remarked, “Congratulations to LVF on the success of your advocacy. We do hope that the Follow Your Dream seminar-workshop will continue so that many students will be able to chart their life plans and translate them into reality.”
Eleven (11) ALS students attending classes in Malihao graduated from Sagay on July 26th where 4 of them got 7 medals like best in English, Mathematics and from other subjects. Some of them are now enrolled at La Salle-Victorias and Laura Vicuna Women Development and Training Center while others are working already. Those who are in school are under the scholarship of the City of Victorias.
Thirty (30) LVTC –Sta. Mesa trainees had their CAMP RETREAT in Itogon, Benguet last July 26 – 29th. Three Salesian Sisters facilitated the camp retreat; namely Sr. Ana Guerrero, Sr. Teresita Saludares and Sr. Janis Aguirre. Peter Marc Albaira, a Mary Help of Christians College Student, also graces the retreat by assisting the sisters and portraying the Icon, John the Beloved. Father Favie Faldas, SDB, instituted a very special kind of Eucharistic Mass – The Washing of the Feet, which led the campers to know deeply the value of being humble servants of GOD. The camp retreat focuses on the Millennial’s YES – their discernment in choosing their own vocation. The campers were also taught about Mental Health Awareness. The trainees were also given the chance to experience some tourist’s spots in Baguio City such as Burnham Park, Mines View Park, The Mansion, Lourdes Grotto and The Cathedral. They also visited the “La Trinidad Market” and Strawberry Farm in Benguet.
