LVF CONVENES NATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
“Sana poPanginoonwalana pong batangmaabuso…. Sana powala ng batangmaaapi…. wala ng batangmapagsamantalahan ….ma-traffick….ma exploit …. maibenta…. Sana powalanapoPanginoon,” the opening prayer of one of the girls of LVF, Remilyn Olediana touched the hearts of all as the Conference started
Another LVF girl, Shane Yap, welcomed the participants with her amazing address and challenge to all participants: “may I request that we all stand up and shout ”STAND UP, TOGETHER LET US BEAT AND END EXPLOITATION, ABUSE AND TRAFFICKING!” She was followed by the inspirational message of Sr. Mabel Pilar, FMA, LVF President and FMA Provincial Animator.
Sr. Ma. Victoria P. Sta Ana, FMA, LVF Managing Director together with one LVF girl Tricia Nadine Velasquez presented the LVF Journey of Hope in perspective highlighting the best practices of the Foundation throughout this 30 years journey. Tricia shared her winning piece essay of “Hope is my Home” where she emotionally expressed her gratitude to the foundation which is her home of hope.
An open forum followed after the individual sharing of the guests and some of the participants expressed their gratitude and congratulatory messages to LVF for its continuing effort to build a culture of protection for children and families.
The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) Executive Director Ms. Mary Mitzi Cajayon-Uy also rendered her piece of response and she gave great emphasis on parents’ formation as the key to child protection. In her solidarity message, she shared the vision mission of CWC and its effort to serve the best interest of children.
LVF’s 30th Anniversary celebration was truly a blessing! Fr. Conegundo Garganta, CBCP ECY Executive Secretary, celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass offering praises and gratitude to God who made all things possible for LVF throughout the years. The Journey of Hope continues as we STAND UP and together, beat and end Exploitation, Abuse and Trafficking!
