LVF 2018 PAST PUPILS’ HOMECOMING
A Reflection on LVF of DMHC Past Pupils Homecoming
Where your heart is, there is your home“!
November 25, Solemnity of Christ the King, is an auspicious occasion of our Laura Vicuna Foundation Past Pupils Homecoming to tender their heartfelt gratitude first of all to God, who during these years has guided and inspired them in their lives and to Mary, our Mother and Help, who accompanied them, with her loving, maternal guidance, on their journey with their families. It takes a lot of sacrifice to set aside time out of your busy schedules to be here this afternoon to share your joy, your experiences, your families, your daily undertakings. The beautiful encounter today will be worth the sacrifice you have made. Your effort, your contribution, makes a difference. Truly, your love and fidelity to our Vicunian family spirit supports our Past Pupils Association. We know, you share our pride, our joy, in what our LVF Past Pupils Association is doing and where we strive to continue to journey, with the capacity of creating more possibilities for the formation and education of our needy youth. Your greatness, wonderful PP enjoying a tremendous experience together, very successful and supportive community.
From 1:00 to 5:30pm, more than 50 of our dear Past Pupils participated this years’ Homecoming. They came from different parts of Manila and from other provinces. Some even brought their husbands and children. It is worth noting, with our admiration and gratitude, that they themselves were the ones who organized and programmed the encounter, animating other members to share what they could, not only for the sumptuous meal but also for the gifts, prizes and give-aways for the very amusing games they have prepared. Thanks to the ‘games – prizes committee’ who prepared very useful prizes for the families. Everyone enjoyed being together with their batch - mates, friends and with the Sisters: the typical Salesian family spirit was really felt.
The “2018 LVF Past Pupils’ Homecoming” was truly a significant, memorable ‘coming home’ ! Our gratitude goes to each and everyone, most especially to those who organized, prepared and realized the wonderful, beautiful encounter ! The Sisters were deeply moved for the endeavour of the past pupils to uphold and live the spirit they have embibed in the LVF Past Pupils Association. This is an inspiration and a witnessing in their own communities. They strive to live what Pope Francis said: “Be glad and exult! God is calling you to holiness … at home, in your work, in your group, everywhere … “. May Mary Help of Christians, through the intercession of Blessed Laura Vicuna, continue to accompany them in their daily undertakings. Our prayers for them and for their families, for the graces they have most at heart. MABUHAY ang “LVF Past Pupils Association” !
